Despite the loss, Pleasant Ridge saw an underclassman step up: Brady Mance scored 12 points along with three blocks and two steals. Mance hasn't dropped below two blocks for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Beying, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Maranatha Christian Academy's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-2. As for Pleasant Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.
Maranatha Christian Academy will head out on the road to face off against Bishop Ward at 8:15 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Kansas (Bishop Ward is ranked 216th, while Maranatha Christian Academy is ranked 215th). Pleasant Ridge won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Maur Hill Prep-Mount Academy at 8:15 p.m. on January 19th.
