On Monday, Savannah was able to grind out a solid win over the Cardinals, taking the game 54-45.
Despite the loss, Lawson saw an underclassman step up: Brogan Crawford dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Andrew Phipps, who scored 13 points.
Savannah's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-12. As for Lawson, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Savannah won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Fighting Irish at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th. As for Lawson, they will head out on the road to take on the Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Missouri (Trenton is ranked 397th, while the Cardinals are ranked 393rd).
