The Meeker Cowboys will be playing in front of their home fans against the Buena Vista Demons at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Meeker walked away with it. They walked away with a 20-7 win over Highland on Saturday. The victory was just what Meeker needed coming off of a 41-6 defeat in their prior match.
Meeker can attribute much of their success to Clay Crawford, who rushed for 129 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Buena Vista beat Colorado Springs Christian 27-21 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Buena Vista.
Tray Cardwell was a one-man wrecking crew for Buena Vista as he rushed for 204 yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Schuknecht, who rushed for 89 yards and a touchdown.
Meeker's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Buena Vista, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Meeker against Buena Vista when the teams last played back in October as the team secured a 42-14 win. Does Meeker have another victory up their sleeve, or will Buena Vista turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
