Carver extended the longest winning streak in 2A Conference 7 this week by beating Glenn, 19-7. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Yellowjackets.
North Surry made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 8,881 from 9,181.
West Stokes's Alex Manley and Ricky Kirchenbauer have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-1 quarterback Manley has thrown for 577 yards this season, while Kirchenbauer has 23 catches for 346 yards. South Stokes's Jaquan Martin leads the league in rushing yards with 825.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Carver takes on Surry Central. At the moment, Germane Crowell's team is in second, while the Golden Eagles are in third.
The Yellowjackets led 2A Conference 7 in points allowed with 7.
