The Geneseo Maple Leafs will face off against the Rock Island Rocks at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Geneseo knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Rock Island likes a good challenge.
Geneseo barely beat Moline the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Maple Leafs blew past the Maroons 12-2 on Tuesday. Considering the Maple Leafs have won 12 games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Kendyl Wassenhove was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Madisyn Buysse was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more RBI the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Penny Kline, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Geneseo kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Rock Island posted their closest win since April 17th on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against East Moline United, sneaking past 4-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rocks.
Maddie Carroll spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jozie Kerr, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Geneseo is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.9 runs on average over those games. As for Rock Island, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-8.
Geneseo couldn't quite finish off Rock Island in their previous meeting back in April and fell 3-1. Will the Maple Leafs have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
