Western Boone and Clinton Central are an even 4-4 against one another since May of 2018, but likely not for long. The Stars will host the Bulldogs at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Western Boone is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.
On Thursday, Western Boone earned a 7-4 win over Frankfort. The Stars have beaten the Hot Dogs the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Hot Dogs has come to flipping the script.

Easton Nance was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.
In other batting news, Western Boone let Quinn Westerfeld and Gavin Hawkins run wild. Westerfeld got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, while Hawkins went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI Hawkins has posted since back in May of 2024. Owen Howe was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Clinton Central scored first but ultimately less than Eastern in their matchup on Thursday. They came up short against the Comets, falling 13-4. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Comets recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.
Creed Mennen made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Boone, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
Western Boone's victory bumped their record up to 12-9. As for Clinton Central, they now have a losing record of 8-9.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Western Boone has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Clinton Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Western Boone might still be hurting after the 19-7 defeat they got from Clinton Central when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Will the Stars have more luck at home instead of on the road?
