The Western Warriors lost against the Butler Bears back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Western was dealt a 91-18 defeat at the hands of the Bears. Western has not had much luck with the Bears recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Despite the loss, Western still got an impressive performance from Leslie Bright, who scored 14 points along with two steals. That was a full 77.8% of Western's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Western has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-15 record this season. As for Butler, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.
Western will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Red Hawks at 6:00 p.m. Seneca is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games. Butler's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Rockets at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Kentucky (Assumption is ranked 31st, while the Bears are ranked 22nd).
