This season hasn't been kind to The Cheney Blackhawks, who are still winless after their ninth game. They lost to Eisenhower at home by a decisive 24-7 margin on Friday. Cheney was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Eisenhower apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
Cheney's loss was their eighth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-9. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 8-1 Gonzaga Prep and 9-2 Mt. Spokane (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 58.8% over those games). As for Eisenhower, their victory bumped their record up to 3-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cheney will stay at home for another week and welcome Walla Walla at 6:00 p.m. on November 2nd. Walla Walla is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Eisenhower, they will be playing at home against Lewis & Clark at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
