The Los Banos Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the Pacheco Panthers at 7:15 p.m. Los Banos has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 306 points over their last five matches.
Los Banos pushed their score all the way to 55 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 64-55 to Ceres. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Los Banos in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now lost three in a row.
Meanwhile, Pacheco's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight defeat. They took a serious blow against Mountain House, falling 63-30. While losing is never fun, Pacheco can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1044th, while the Mustangs are ranked 195th).
Los Banos' defeat dropped their record down to 11-13. As for Pacheco, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 13 of their last 14 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season.
Los Banos beat the Panthers 44-31 when the teams last played back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Los Banos since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
