The Greenforest Eagles entered their tilt with the Northside Patriots with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Greenforest snuck past Northside with a 61-55 victory on Saturday. Given Greenforest's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 84th, while Northside is ranked 327th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, Northside still got an impressive performance from Morgan Thomas, who scored 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zariah Davis, who scored 12 points.
Greenforest is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Northside, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.
Greenforest on the road again on Monday and play against Campbell at 9:30 a.m. on January 15th. As for Northside, they will stay at home for another game and welcome McIntosh at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th.
