Volleyball Recap: Chaminade-Madonna Wins Going Away Against Western

It was a proper cat-fight when Chaminade-Madonna duked it out with Western on Monday. The Lions blew past the Wildcats 3-0. For the Lions, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 victory the Wildcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2023.

Chaminade-Madonna was especially dominant in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-20, 25-20.

Melia Howze paced Chaminade-Madonna's offense, picking up 13 kills. Howze got some help from Amy Wood and her 30 assists. Wood also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Sydney Wallace, racking up three apiece.

Despite the loss, Western still got an impressive performance from Carolina Olivet, who had 15 digs and one assist.

Chaminade-Madonna now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Western, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

Chaminade-Madonna wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Monsignor Pace on the 9th. As for Western, they will venture away from home to face off against Monarch at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
