Baseball Recap: Northside Beats Steinmetz College Prep for Their Third Straight Win

Northside had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. Everything went their way against the Steinmetz College Prep Silver Streaks as they made off with a 19-4 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 18-0 on Wednesday.

The team relied heavily on Isaac Reyes, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Liam Schorr, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run.

Northside always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .632. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Steinmetz College Prep only posted an OBP of .450.

Northside's win bumped their record up to 12-9. As for Steinmetz College Prep, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-16.

Looking ahead, Northside will challenge Westinghouse at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Mustangs are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Steinmetz College Prep, they will square off against Lake View at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.
