The Alvarado Indians will be playing in front of their home fans against the Kennedale Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Alvarado can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 70-41 victory over Life Waxahachie. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Alvarado as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Cardea Collier was a one-man wrecking crew for Alvarado as he rushed for 206 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 9.4 yards per carry, and also threw for 237 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.9 yards per attempt. Another player making a difference was Demarcus Belton, who picked up 137 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Kennedale waltzed into Thursday's game with six straight wins but they left with seven. They came out on top against Dunbar by a score of 14-7.
Laurrence Watkins was the offensive standout of the game as he rushed for 117 yards and a touchdown, and also caught a touchdown.
Alvarado's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Kennedale, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-3.
Everything came up roses for Alvarado against Kennedale in their previous meeting back in September as the team secured a 47-7 win. Does Alvarado have another victory up their sleeve, or will Kennedale turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
