Gateway Christian suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They were beaten by Atlantic Shores Christian 82-27. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Gateway Christian has scored all season.
Despite the defeat, Gateway Christian had strong showings from Jacob Holestin, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds, and Keegan Snyder, who scored no points.
Gateway Christian's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Atlantic Shores Christian, their win bumped their record up to 6-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gateway Christian will take on Greenbrier Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Greenbrier Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up five on Friday. Atlantic Shores Christian won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Salem at 11:30 a.m. on January 13th. Salem presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Atlantic Shores Christian in Virginia (Salem is ranked 89th, while Atlantic Shores Christian is ranked 212th).
