Deep Run is a perfect 10-0 against Freeman since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Wildcats will take on the Mavericks at 6:00 p.m. Deep Run's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Freeman's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Deep Run will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Friday, then bounced right back against James River Midlothian on Monday. The Wildcats blew past the Rapids 14-6. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won seven contests by eight runs or more so far this season.
Emily Plank made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. Those 13 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Those four runs gave Baulsir a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hope Tate, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one run.
Deep Run always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Freeman beat J.R. Tucker 8-3 on Friday. With that victory, the Mavericks brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.
Caroline Baird spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on three hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Ryleigh Perks was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Oakley Cotropia, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Deep Run's record now sits at 10-8. As for Freeman, their record is now 7-10.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. Deep Run hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like Freeman struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Deep Run was able to grind out a solid win over Freeman in their previous matchup on Thursday, winning 7-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
