After flying high against the Young Women's STEAM Research & Preparatory Academy Warriors last Friday, the Irvin Rockets came back down to earth. Irvin was dealt a 41-14 defeat at the hands of Harmony Science Academy on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Irvin has suffered since December 15, 2023.
Among those leading the charge was Miranda Urquidi-Sauceda, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season.
Irvin has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season. As for Harmony Science Academy, their win bumped their record up to 6-18.
Irvin's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Bowie at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. Bowie is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Harmony Science Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Young Women's STEAM Research & Preparatory Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Young Women's STEAM Research & Preparatory Academy has now lost 13 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 21.
