OCALA, Fla. -
Trinity Catholic (Ocala, Fla.) grabbed a lead in the first quarter and rode that momentum to a 32-0 win over Booker (Sarasota, Fla.).
The Celtics scored 14 points in the first quarter. Trinity Catholic scored on a kick return touchdown by
Jamonte Jones and a touchdown run by
Demonta Blunt.
After taking the lead on a kick return touchdown by Jones in the first quarter, TC led 29-0 at the half.
Reid Carlton stood out for the Ocala school in the win. The junior quarterback threw one touchdown and ran for one touchdown. He has now scored three touchdowns on the season.
Coming into the game the Celtics had allowed 21.0 points per game this year.
The loss comes after Booker defeated Avon Park 41-0 last week. With the win Trinity Catholic extended its winning streak to four games. The loss snapped the Tornadoes' 3-game winning streak.
Trinity Catholic (6-2) goes up against Fort White in a 3A District 3 game matchup next week, while Booker (3-6) locks horns with Dunbar in a 4A District 6 game.
