With a playoff win on the line, Triton Central rose to the challenge on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over the Heritage Christian Eagles. The victory was familiar territory for the Tigers, who have now won five matches in a row.
Bryce Haney made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up five earned runs off seven hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Nick Riggins was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run.
