Prestonwood Christian North has enjoyed a six-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Christian Heritage Sentinels at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
With a playoff game on the line, Prestonwood Christian North rose to the challenge on Saturday. They didn't even let Greenville Christian onto the board and left with a 54-0 victory. Prestonwood Christian North's offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
It was another big night for Hayden Wood, who threw for 122 yards and three touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Branson Reeves was another key contributor, rushing for 71 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Christian Heritage came tearing into Saturday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 56 points) and they left with even more momentum. They breezed by Wichita Christian on the road to the tune of 62-16.
Prestonwood Christian North has yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 8-1 record. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 2-8 Bethesda Christian and 2-7 Greenville Christian (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 43.3% over those games). As for Christian Heritage, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.
Prestonwood Christian North was taken down by Christian Heritage 68-18 when the teams last played back in November of 2022. Can Prestonwood Christian North avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
