Basketball Recap: Statesville's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak at Home + How To Watch

Statesville came into this matchup off a tough 32-point defeat on Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the West Rowan Falcons by a score of 58-56 on Monday. The Greyhounds lost against the Falcons in their previous head to head back in February of 2021, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 82-43 score last time.

Despite the loss, Statesville still got an impressive performance from Manuel (MJ) Gladden, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and ten rebounds. Gladden's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 18 points. Gavin Gaither was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Among those leading the charge was Caleb Queen, who went 6-for-9 on his way to 16 points and five boards. Luke Bame also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Statesville's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-4. As for West Rowan, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-3 record this season.

Statesville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 66-55 defeat against Pine Lake Prep on the 9th. As for West Rowan, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 67-59 victory against East Rowan on the 9th.
