Softball Recap: Escanaba Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Escanaba came tearing into Saturday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Millington Cardinals a 10-0 shutout. The Eskymos might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by six runs or more this season.

Escanaba's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Millington, they moved to 10-6 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Coincidentally, Escanaba and Millington will both be playing Hancock the next time they take the field. The Eskymos will host the Bulldogs at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Cardinals will play them later in the day, at 9:00 p.m.
