Wolfe City has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Harleton Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Harleton took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Wolfe City, who comes in off a win.
Wolfe City never got on the board in their matchup two weeks ago, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Rivercrest last Friday. They blew past the Rebels 70-42 at home. The result was nothing new for Wolfe City, who have now won four matches by 25 points or more so far this season.
Wolfe City's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Carson Herron led the charge by throwing for 273 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.4 yards per attempt, and also rushing for 104 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries. Another player making a difference was Hd Davis, who rushed for 201 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.6 yards per carry.
Wolfe City's defensive line stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. The heavy lifting was done by Jadon Forniglia and Cannon Miller who racked up four sacks between them.
Despite a strong season so far, Harleton has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. The contest between Harleton and Ore City wasn't particularly close, with Harleton falling 32-13.
Wolfe City's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Harleton, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.
