Covington scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and three steals, while Griffin scored seven points along with 11 rebounds and two steals. Griffin has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played.
My'Shauna Worrell was her usual excellent self, almost dropping a triple-double on 21 points, nine rebounds, and 12 steals for Cheraw. Worrell hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Sa'Nya Murray, who scored 15 points along with two steals.
Central has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 11 of their last 13 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season. As for Cheraw, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-11.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Volunteers at 6:15 p.m. on January 31st. Andrew Jackson will be looking to extend their current 12-game winning streak. As for Cheraw, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Golden Rams at 6:00 p.m. Chesterfield is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
