The Brownsburg Bulldogs fought the good fight in their overtime contest against the Avon Orioles on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 57-56 to the Orioles. Brownsburg was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Avon apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Grant Porath, who scored 16 points along with three steals. Porath hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Brendan Lattimer, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and two blocks.
Avon found their leader in underclassman Jedidiah Minnett, who scored 19 points along with two steals. Minnett hasn't dropped below 15points for five straight games. Isaac Kramer was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with two blocks.
Brownsburg bumped their record down to 6-6 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Avon, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brownsburg will take on Cascade at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Cascade focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday. As for Avon, they will head out on the road to challenge Plainfield at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Plainfield has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 476 points over their last seven contests.
