The Centerville Elks had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They had just enough and edged Wayne out 41-38. The victory was just what Centerville needed coming off of a 59-33 loss in their prior contest.
Despite the loss, Wayne still got an impressive performance from Tionne Mcmillon, who scored ten points. Another player making a difference was Jonilyah Chambers, who scored eight points along with three steals.
Centerville's win bumped their record up to 12-9. As for Wayne, their loss dropped their record down to 11-11.
Centerville will be playing in front of their home fans against Northmont at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Centerville is coming into the matchup with three straight victories at home, so Northmont is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. As for Wayne, they will face off against Ponitz Career Tech at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Wayne focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Saturday.
