The Handley Judges had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They claimed a resounding 49-21 victory over Liberty on the road. The result was nothing new for Handley, who have now won four games by 20 points or more so far this season.
When it comes to explaining why Liberty lost, one person who can't be blamed is Austin Mawyer. Despite the final result, he threw for 319 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 80 yards on only 11 carries.
Handley's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Liberty, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Handley will take on Millbrook at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Liberty, they will be playing in front of their home fans against James Wood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
