Pompano Beach comes in on a streak of failing to score more than nine points in their last eight games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
Pompano Beach fell victim to Somerset Academy Key's stalwart defense on Saturday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were beaten by the Lions 56-0. The last quarter was a mere formality, since the game's final score was reached by the end of the third quarter.
Meanwhile, Pembroke Pines Charter took a serious blow against American on Thursday, falling 60-13.
Pompano Beach's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 1-8. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 4.0 points per game. As for Pembroke Pines Charter, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season.
Pompano Beach was dealt a bruising 33-0 defeat at the hands of Pembroke Pines Charter in their previous meeting back in November of 2022. Can Pompano Beach avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
