The Franklin Road Academy Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. They were beaten by The Webb School 79-48. While losing is never fun, Franklin Road Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 226th, while the Feet are ranked 52nd).
The Webb School's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jax Howard, who scored 21 points. Howard is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Brown, who scored 21 points.
Franklin Road Academy has not been sharp recently as the team's lost ten of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season. As for The Webb School, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 14-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Franklin Road Academy will stay at home for another game and welcome the Lions at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Grace Christian Academy is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for The Webb School, they and the Cougars will face off at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Middle Tennessee Christian has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 9.
