The East Side Red Raiders lost against the Seton Hall Prep Pirates back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. East Side was dealt a 70-38 loss at the hands of Seton Hall Prep. East Side was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-13.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Seton Hall Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gino Romano, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Ante, who scored 13 points.
East Side's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Seton Hall Prep, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 9-11 record this season.
East Side will be playing at home against Irvington at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Irvington presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than East Side in New Jersey (Irvington is ranked 93rd, while East Side is ranked 232nd). As for Seton Hall Prep, they will take on St. Benedict's Prep at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Seton Hall Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully St. Benedict's Prep likes a good challenge.
