The Notre Dame Prep Saints stacked an 11th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 67-18 win over Desert Mountain. Winning may never get old, but Notre Dame Prep sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Notre Dame Prep's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ava Pautz led the charge by scoring 16 points along with seven assists and two steals. Lily Mccracken was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five steals.
Desert Mountain lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Nicolette Kelly, who scored 16 points. That was a full 88.9% of Desert Mountain's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Desert Mountain struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only an offensive rebound. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Notre Dame Prep pulled down 24 offensive rebounds.
Notre Dame Prep's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.4 points per game. As for Desert Mountain, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-13.
Notre Dame Prep will be playing at home against Youngker at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Youngker will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 141st, while Notre Dame Prep is ranked 20th). As for Desert Mountain, they will head out on the road to square off against Horizon at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Horizon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 last Thursday.
