Hueytown is 0-3 against Wenonah since November of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. Last Tuesday, Hueytown came up short against Pelham and fell 51-41. Hueytown has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Wenonah came tearing into Monday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 37 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 49-42 victory over Parker.
Wenonah's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jakerria Ringstaff led the charge by scoring 23 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. Ringstaff is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Samarian Franklin was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds and six steals.
Hueytown bumped their record down to 2-9 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Wenonah, their victory bumped their record up to 12-4.
Hueytown took a serious blow against Wenonah in their previous meeting back in November, falling 72-36. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Franklin, who scored 32 points along with seven assists and six steals.
