Basketball Recap: Pasco Skates Past Citrus with Ease

Pasco had to skate by with only a two-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 30-point drubbing they dealt Citrus on Wednesday. The Pasco Pirates breezed by the Citrus Hurricanes to the tune of 70-40. The Pirates have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 20 points or more this season.

TJ Gebru continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a double-double on 24 points and nine boards. What's more, he also racked up four assists, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Jeremiah Miller was another key player, going 7 for 12 en route to 17 points and three steals.

Pasco smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Several Hurricanes players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ashton Jenkins, who posted five points and ten rebounds. Gavin Fern also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steal of the season.

Pasco is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season. As for Citrus, they dropped their record down to 1-17 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Weeki Wachee the next time they take the court. Pasco will head out to face Weeki Wachee at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Citrus will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
