The Bard Falcons scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 53-50 win over Woodson. That's two games straight that Bard has won by exactly three points.
Leading Bard to victory were LaMardre Anderson-Ward and Andre Wright. Anderson-Ward scored 17 points along with six rebounds, while Wright scored 24 points. Those 24 points set a new season-high mark for him.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Antonio King, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds. Those six rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Quanntrell Gause, who scored 11 points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Bard and bumps their season record up to 3-10. As for Woodson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bard will take on Bell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in District of Columbia (Bell is ranked 34th, while Bard is ranked 32nd). As for Woodson, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Cardozo at 7:00 p.m. Cardozo is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 71.8 points per game.
