It was a good run, but the Pasadena Memorial Mavericks unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Alief Taylor by a score of 51-48. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Pasadena Memorial has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Pasadena Memorial lost, one person who can't be blamed is Robert Miller lll. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds. The contest was Miller lll's 14th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gary Brown, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Pasadena Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Alief Taylor, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pasadena Memorial will face off against Dobie at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Dobie will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 269th, while Pasadena Memorial is ranked 82nd). Alief Taylor's road trip will continue as they head out to face Alvin at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th. Hopefully Alvin focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Friday.
