On Friday, King beat Hutto 64-54. Given King's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 28th, while Hutto is ranked 450th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Hutto's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Byron Piper, who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Cylin Tate, who scored 8 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 assists.
King is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season. As for Hutto, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-5.
King will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Chapin at 3:00 p.m. on December 1st. Hopefully Chapin focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Friday. As for Hutto, they will take on Dawson at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
