Highline and Lindbergh are an even 5-5 against one another since June of 2021, but likely not for long. The Pirates will challenge the Eagles at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Wednesday, Highline got the win against Foster by a conclusive 12-2.
Josiah JoJo Barron made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. He has become a key player for Highline: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 3-11 otherwise.

In other batting news, Rodrigo Pena was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one double. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Roman Easter was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Highline always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Foster only posted an OBP of .391.
Meanwhile, Lindbergh waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Red Wolves. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Eagles have posted since March 17th.
Vincent Campos spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on zero hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Lindbergh's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Uriel Espinal, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base. Levi Emerson also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Lindbergh pushed their record up to 9-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Highline, their victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-12.
