Washington is 3-0 against Harding since January of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Washington Tigers will head out on the road to challenge the Harding Raiders at 1:30 p.m. Hopefully Washington focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Monday.
Last Monday, Washington earned a 54-47 win over Northwest. Given Washington's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 145th, while Northwest is ranked 533rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Washington's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was La Nia Moore, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds. Moore is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Talia Russell was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Meanwhile, Harding came up short against Howland on Wednesday and fell 33-22. Harding has not had much luck with Howland recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Washington has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Harding, they now have a losing record at 8-9.
Washington didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Harding in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, but they still walked away with a 54-50 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Washington since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
