The Handley Judges put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They took down Brentsville District 53-38. Given Handley's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 29th, while Brentsville District is ranked 147th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, Brentsville District still got an impressive performance from Brooke lynn Miller, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Ava Garza was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Handley's win was their 11th straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-0. As for Brentsville District, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-7 record this season.
Handley will head out on the road to challenge Sherando at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Handley's defense has only allowed 27.4 points per game this season, so Sherando's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Brentsville District, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Millbrook at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Brentsville District focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Saturday.
