Basketball Recap: Central Baptist Christian Sets Scoring Season-High Against Palm Grove Christian

Central Baptist Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 52-42 to the Palm Grove Christian Gators. One positive for the Lions, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

It was another big night for Carter Baker, who went 9 of 14 en route to 18 points along with eight rebounds and five steals for Palm Grove Christian. The team also got some help courtesy of Josiah Stauffer, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards.

Central Baptist Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Palm Grove Christian, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central Baptist Christian will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Community Christian at 5:45 p.m. on January 10, 2025. Palm Grove Christian also won't see the court for a while: their next matchup is against New Jerusalem Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025.
