Basketball Game Preview: Trezevant Bears vs. Memphis Business Academy Execs

Trezevant hasn't had much luck against Memphis Business Academy recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Trezevant Bears are taking a road trip to face off against the Memphis Business Academy Execs at 1:00 p.m. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: ROBYNN THOMPSON and Tarrin Hill.

Last Friday, Trezevant was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 40-35 to Memphis Business Academy. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 216th, while the Execs are ranked 68th).

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from CIARA THOMAS, who posted four points along with 12 rebounds and six blocks. That's the most boards she has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of JUSTICE DUNLAP, who had 13 points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals.

Even though they lost, Trezevant smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

The win was the seventh in a row for Memphis Business Academy, bringing their record for this year to 14-7. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.1 points per game. As for Trezevant, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 11-11.
