Shelton is 10-0 against Silver Lake since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Shelton Bulldogs will head out on the road to take on the Silver Lake Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. Shelton is looking to tack on another W to their 13-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
Shelton can now show off 17 landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They claimed a resounding 78-24 win over Harvard at home. Given Shelton's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 52nd, while Harvard is ranked 279th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Riley Bombeck continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 13 points along with eight assists and eight steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 12 times he's played. Ashton Simmons was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Meanwhile, Silver Lake had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 65-49 victory over Meridian.
Shelton's win bumped their record up to 19-1. As for Silver Lake, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.
Shelton took their win against Silver Lake in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 64-43. The rematch might be a little tougher for Shelton since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
