Hampshire is 2-8 against Cornersville since April of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Hawks will challenge the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Hampshire is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.9 runs per game this season.

While Hampshire's victory against Perry County wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Hawks skirted past the Vikings 12-10. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Hawks have posted since March 14th.

Therin Brown made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Keaon Nicholson was a standout: he scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Cameron Marrisett was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-5.

Meanwhile, Cornersville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They lost 19-2 to Cascade.

Hampshire is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games. As for Cornersville, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-13.

Hampshire skirted past Cornersville 8-7 in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hawks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
