Skyview is a perfect 10-0 against Battle Ground since March of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Storm will venture away from home to face off against the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. Skyview is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 13 games.
Skyview's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Camas as they made off with a 10-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Storm, who have now won 15 matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.
Maddie Milhorn made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 16 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
In other batting news, Taylor Lies was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Dylan Yates was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one double.
Skyview hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in 13 consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Battle Ground ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Camas 8-7.
Skyview's win was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Battle Ground, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-9-1.
Everything went Skyview's way against Battle Ground in their previous meeting on Friday, as Skyview made off with a 10-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Storm since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
