The Hagerstown Tigers will head out to challenge the Rushville Lions at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hagerstown is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.
It was a proper cat-fight when Hagerstown challenged Knightstown on Tuesday. The Tigers put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 12-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.
Allison Stinson was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Lilly Catey also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.
Hagerstown always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Knightstown only posted an OBP of .190.
Meanwhile, Rushville didn't have quite enough to beat Hauser on Monday and fell 4-3. The Lions haven't had much luck with the Jets recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Rushville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Becca Tabeling, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Hagerstown pushed their record up to 11-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8.3 runs. As for Rushville, their loss dropped their record down to 4-10.
Rushville's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Wednesday. Hagerstown has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.6 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Rushville, though, as they've been averaging only 2.2 strikeouts. Will Hagerstown keep running through batters, or will the Lions buck the trend?
Hagerstown took their win against Rushville in their previous meeting back in April by a conclusive 15-0 score. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
