Revolution Academy extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping them down to 2-8. They lost 16-1 to the Bethany Community Wolves. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 back in March.
Revolution Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maggie Perez, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
As for Bethany Community, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 12-4. Considering they have won nine matchups by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
On Bethany Community's side, Peyton Weavil made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Weavil has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in nine consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with six RBI, one run, and one double. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Mattie Southard was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI. She continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Cadence Parsons, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Revolution Academy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 18-3 defeat against Cornerstone Charter Academy on the 23rd. As for Bethany Community, they have also already played their next game, a 10-2 win against Clover Garden School on the 24th.
