The Bennington Badgers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 21 points or more this season. They blew past Blair 44-23. Given Bennington's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while Blair is ranked 97th), the result on Saturday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Bennington's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Skylar Johnson led the charge by scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Those seven rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Harper Bohaboj, who scored six points along with seven steals.
Bennington's victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-3. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 26.25 points. As for Blair, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season.
Bennington will play host again and welcome Waverly, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Blair will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Norris at 4:15 p.m. on January 11th. Hopefully Norris focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Thursday.
