If Zanesville wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Johnstown-Monroe, they should've done a better job of containing Ava Ruffle. The Johnnies blew past the Blue Devils 3-0 on Thursday for which the team can thank Ruffle, who had eight digs and six aces. Abrams has been hot, having also posted six or more kills the last five times she's played.
One reason for the win was Johnstown-Monroe's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-14, 25-12.
Northmor better focus on containing Addy Hazelbaker and Marley Weeks as the pair were huge in Johnstown-Monroe's win. Hazelbaker had 12 assists and five digs, while Weeks had ten digs. Those ten digs gave Weeks a new career-high.
Northmor's defeat dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Johnstown-Monroe, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.
Everything went Northmor's way against Johnstown-Monroe in their previous meeting back in October of 2018, as Northmor made off with a 3-0 win. Do the Golden Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Johnnies turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
