Even though the Lyman Raiders scored an imposing 58 points on Saturday, the Wall Eagles still came out on top. Wall skirted past Lyman 61-58. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Wall has posted against Lyman since January 26, 2019.
Leading Wall to victory were Rhea Tucker and Paige Kjerstad. Tucker dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds, while Kjerstad dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 rebounds. Kjerstad has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Faith Frink, who scored eight points.
Wall pushed their record up to 10-3 with that win, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.1 points per game. As for Lyman, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-1.
Wall will head out on the road to challenge White River at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Dakota (White River is ranked 50th, while Wall is ranked 34th). As for Lyman, they will be playing at home against Potter County co-op [Gettysburg/Hoven] at 5:15 p.m. on Monday.
