After each having a week off, the Kaufman Lions and the Crandall Pirates will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
It was a proper cat-fight when Kaufman duked it out withTerrell last Friday. Kaufman blew past Terrell 42-21. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Lions just coasted through the last quarter.
Kaufman's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Johnathan Wrenn led the charge by picking up 99 receiving yards and a touchdown. Wrenn showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 50 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Ty Burleson, who threw for 196 yards and two touchdowns.
