Union is 1-9 against Lakewood since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Union Spartans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lakewood Leopards at 7:30 p.m. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 26 consecutive losses dating back to last season for Union and three for Lakewood.
Union suffered their biggest defeat since November 21, 2023 on Wednesday. They had to suffer through a rough 62-19 loss at the hands of Clinton. Union was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-12.
Meanwhile, Lakewood ended up a good deal behind Lejeune last Friday and lost 61-47.
Union bumped their record down to 0-11 with that defeat, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Lakewood, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.
Union came up short against Lakewood in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, falling 50-42. Can Union avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
